MONTECUCCO SANGIOVESE

Muschi Alti Montecucco San Giovese
(Campagnatico, Tuscany, Italia),

Grapes: Sangiovese 95% Cabernet Sauvignon 5%
Colour: The wine is brillant ruby red with purple tone.
Scent: Intensive fruitful aroma, with the taste of black currant and little red and black fruits - tipical matureness of the cabernet.
Taste: Full-bodied, in the mouth the wine express all the supported freshness, softly tannic, with a harmonic after-taste at the end.

The story of Silvestro Ottonelli's farm "Muschi Alti" is recent, but Montecucco's lands were cultivated from the era of the Etruscan, this mysterious civilisation who was built a city - Roselle - close to Campagnatico.

"Muschi Alti" originally was the part of the enormous farm "Stertignano", in the property of marquis Tolomei of Siena - an antique family, who was mentioned in the Divina Commedia of Dante. In the '50 years (as series of the division of the big estates ) "Muschi Alti" became independent.

In the last years Ottonelli family wanted to develop the wine-producing with the adhesion of the D.O.C.(Denominazione Origen Controllata) of Montecucco.

This wine is terrific with Chianina (pronounced kee-a-nee-na) and with American or Canadian Chiangus (A Chiangus is the result of the cross between a registered Chianina or Chiangus and Angus.)
